Wildflower is a cannabis pre-roll product line initially created to show off some inventive packaging, but ended up being more of a full creative examination from artwork to object creation to merchandise. Wildflower was initially going to be called 'Easy Living' and leaned into more of a "stoner art" feel. While developing and illustrating a character, I realized that it was becoming too cartoonish. I then pivoted to the idea of a more grown-up and stylish stoner look. By using vibrant and bold colors, I attempted to create the feeling of tie-dye but with a more polished impression. I then set out to create packaging that would feel familiar but novel, utilitarian and practical; hence the smoke pack that includes matches or lighter. And finally, after seeing the final graphics and colors, really good merch seemed like a must have!
